Logline
A mother and daughter explore the origins and meanings of a liminal trickster figure who appeared in their midst thirty years ago.
This is a film that wasn't to be. Based upon a few earlier conversations with my mother about her experiences, I thought together we could recreate and meditate upon the meanings behind 'the Gorilla.'
I engaged a DP and began to outline a short mocku-documentary in 2025. But at 85, mom couldn't fully remember the stories without being coached. I realized the moment had passed.
This film is complete in my imagination. And it's amazing!
