I had the whirlwind tour of Yellowstone, even making a stupid mistake upon leaving Old Faithful and driving 20 miles in the direction I had just come before realizing my error...duh. I'm trying to document everything with pictures, but some just fly by the car before I can get the camera out.

...the Sasquatch Taxidermy place, the big sign on the side of a barn that said, "Clinton doesn't inhale, he sucks." Priceless. But just memories now. I'll have to start forcing myself to stop, back up, and just take the picture.

Missoula > Yellowstone/Tetons > Wyoming > Colorado > Santa Fe > Austin > Luckenbach > San Antonio > New Orleans > Memphis > Nashville > Detroit > Cleveland..... > Colorado

Haven't gotten into the FLOW of this thing yet. I feel a little rushed. I could spend all day writing in my journal, or writing postcards, going for a walk through the sagebrush, or listening to the great audio I'm recording--but actually, I have to do all this AND drive all day.

Yesterday, in Wyoming, a seagull flew over my car. Strange... a seagull in WYOMING? Then another...and another...and another. Nine altogether. Couldn't make sense of it, so I just took it as an omen of protection through the arid and desolate plains. Had I broken down (in this car I've only known a few days!) I might've seen vultures instead. But Rosinante is driving beautifully...she's my "Blue Deja Vu" (for those of you who remember my red Volvo, this car is the spitting image of that old friend...)

I made it to Vista Verde Ranch to see a friend. It's been great fun so far. We danced to Cotton-Eyed Joe at the barn, looked through old pictures afterward, and right now, she's tubing with the kids from the ranch while I get down to business in town. Her job title is "Kid Wrangler." I'll meet up with them later for Pizza.

Tomorrow I'll head to Aspen to see some of Kristen's friends at the music festival there, then on to Santa Fe where I'll tour the Opera House with one of the set designers...

You'll be getting your postcards before long--and I'll be back in touch, probably from Santa Fe.

Happy Trails!

To be with you tonight

So if you're feelin' low

Turn up your radio"
