When the neighbors cut two beautiful old trees, I noticed the distressed calls of the birds. And the insect population in my garden doubled that day.
I suppose karma is the cosmic tally of all the unconsidered impacts of such decisions. How much do we unknowingly offset the balances upon which we rely? Do we even stop to wonder?
